This is a very unusual brush, designed specifically for special effects and creating textures. It also functions beautifully as a drafting brush to brush off eraser dust from your painting.
This brush features two different kinds of bristles at two different lengths. Shorter dark more absorbent bristles can hold extra water, but mainly function to help space out the longer bristles that are stiffer and less absorbent. All bristles are synthetic.
You can see examples of this style of brush in the makeup industry. I personally always enjoy crossover products - they can be wonderful tools.
