Another unusual color collection. Underpainting is a technique more commonly used with oil and acrylic painting, but it can also be used to great advantage in watercolor. Use diluted colors that are compatible with your painting to sketch in composition and lay out values. Underpainting color can function as the first layer in glazing, or you can play peek-a-boo with it when using more opaque layers over the top.
