Greenleaf & Blueberry Artisanal Handmade Watercolors
This palette is comprised of 12 magnetized Half-Pans of color enclosed in a metal travel tin, and accompanied by a hand-painted color chart.
The colors in this palette are evenly balanced between bright, high-chroma synthetic pigments and earthy Ochre, Earth, and Mineral pigments. This balance allows for a wider breadth of expression, offering a multitude of mixing options and moods.
Six main color categories (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, Grey) are represented by two pigments: a natural and a synthetic. In this way, this palette contains a chromatic scale of natural pigments and synthetic pigments.
I have found that when mixing colors in practice, I prefer to use natural pigments as a base and then make minor adjustments to the mixture with higher chroma pigments. This can be especially true for skin tones: start with French Red Ochre and Italian Yellow Ochre as your base, then adjust accordingly with the rest of the colors in the palette - dilute to lighten!
